If you’re an engineer who loves mechanical design, cutting-edge tech, and products that actually move, this is your dream job.

We’re a growing marine & powersports manufacturer known for innovation—literally. Our team recently earned an industry Innovation Award for our self-booting powered bimini system, and now we’re expanding. We’re looking for a creative, hands-on engineer who wants to own this product line, push its evolution, and help define the future of automated shade systems on the water and trail.

If you love building products that make people stop and say “Whoa… how does that work?”, you’ll fit right in.

You’ll be the engineering lead for our next-generation powered bimini systems—responsible for design, integration, testing, and continuous improvement. This is a role for builders, thinkers, and problem-solvers who want to see their ideas show up on boats and powersports vehicles across the country.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the engineering and development of self-booting powered bimini systems—from concept through production.
  • Design mechanical and electromechanical assemblies that withstand real-world marine and off-road environments.
  • Lead improvements in system motion, actuation, reliability, and user experience.
  • Collaborate with fabrication, electronics, and manufacturing teams to bring your designs to life.
  • Test and validate components and systems for durability, weather resistance, and performance.
  • Work directly with suppliers and OEM partners on integration and product requirements.
  • Troubleshoot field issues, drive product enhancements, and implement design upgrades.
  • Support new patents, new features, and entirely new product variations.
  • Serve as a technical expert for the product line, helping shape future generations of automated top systems.

Why This Role Is Awesome

  • You own the product — this isn’t a small cog in a big corporate machine.
  • You get to build gear that ends up on the water, on trailers, and at boat shows.
  • Your work will be visible, appreciated, and tied to customer experience.
  • You'll collaborate with a passionate team that values creativity, speed, and problem-solving.
  • We encourage rapid prototyping, learning, and innovation—not bureaucracy.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Strong mechanical design skills (3D CAD, mechanisms, linkages, structures).
  • Hands-on aptitude in prototyping, testing, and working with suppliers.
  • Understanding of actuators, automation, sensors, or electromechanical systems a plus.
  • Experience in marine, powersports, outdoor products, automation, or similar industries is highly valued.
  • Creative problem-solving mindset and a desire to bring bold ideas to market.
  • Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate across teams.
  • Passion for building products people actually use.

Bonus Skills

  • Metal fabrication knowledge (welding, machining, forming)
  • Experience with motion systems, motors, or kinematics
  • Understanding of marine environments, corrosion, sealing, or IP ratings
  • Familiarity with stitching, textiles, or soft goods engineering

What You’ll Experience Here

  • A culture that values innovation, craftsmanship, and real-world performance
  • A leadership team that empowers engineers
  • A product line that's growing rapidly
  • The chance to make an impact on an award-winning technology
