Job Summary

With general guidance from the Production & Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor will effectively lead production teams to ensure safety, quality & productivity are maintained at the highest levels, while serving as a role model in the areas of leadership, teamwork, continuous improvement, and safety. The incumbent will employ lean manufacturing methodologies to maximize production through-put and minimize cost.

Essential Functions

  • Achieves results by establishing priorities, communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, appraising job results, coaching, counseling, disciplining employees, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, or procedures.
  • Maintains quality of staff by hiring, training, developing, and mentoring employees to ensure maximum performance.
  • Provides creative leadership and direction to employees to improve operating efficiencies, and equipment performance, and ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Manages workflow by monitoring steps of the process, setting process variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel, and developing reporting procedures.
  • Implement existing production standards and make adjustments as necessary to produce products within specifications.
  • Recommend and implement action plans to correct deviations noted during daily work, and internal or external audits.
  • Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other reports to determine production requirements.
  • Complete administration duties that include time and attendance system, holiday/vacation planning, production reports, and safety violations/concerns.

Qualifications


Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Working Knowledge of lean process preferred.
  • English required, bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Strong time management skills, deadline and detail-oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
  • Positive attitude and action oriented.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.
