Position Overview:
Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, the Marketing Coordinator is crucial for supporting resort marketing efforts. During peak winter operations, this role is responsible for critical cross-channel communication to the public as well as Powder Haven residents, ensuring timely and accurate communication of snow, weather, and operations updates, and serving as a key liaison during emergency situations. During non-peak periods, this role supports the team’s overall marketing efforts and strategies, providing support with blog, email, and website content management, as well as various administrative tasks. This role demands a proactive communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels in multitasking, and demonstrates a deep understanding of Powder Mountain’s brand and guest experience priorities. This position is seasonal full-time and located on-site.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Mountain Operations Connection - Collaborate effectively with other members of the marketing team, Mountain Operations, and other departments to align snow reporting, marketing campaigns, and resort-wide initiatives, fostering a seamless and consistent guest experience.
- Resort Communications - Serve as a key onsite communication liaison during emergencies, ensuring prompt and accurate information is disseminated to guests and staff, while adhering to resort protocols (i.e., if the resort closes due to weather and we need to communicate that to the public via email or social).
- Weather Reporting - Consistently deliver precise and up-to-date weather and snow reports to guests and neighbors, providing an in-depth view into the current and future mountain climate.
- Reactive In-Season Messaging - Craft intentional messaging around incoming storms and weather events to be deployed on social, email, app, and web channels.
- Campaign Support - Supports team during big campaign moments that require additional resources and full team attention, specifically in the areas of email, app, and web channels.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience in the ski or resort industry, marketing, or communications (preferred).
Knowledge:
- Understanding of snow conditions, weather reporting, and their impact on resort operations.
- Familiarity with marketing principles, social media platforms, and content creation.
- Knowledge of emergency response protocols in a resort setting (preferred).
Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in digital tools (e.g., Google Suite, CRM platforms, social media schedulers, or Adobe Creative Suite).
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Abilities:
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and communications.
- Adaptability to quickly shift focus between duties.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and make decisions under pressure.
