POSITION OVERVIEW
The Data Analyst will be responsible for providing insightful analysis though data collection, structuring and design, validation and reporting to support decision-making processes within the organization. Proficiency in business intelligence tools and strong analytical skills are essential for this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Analysis and Business Intelligence
· Utilize business intelligence tools and software to extract, analyze, and visualize data for operations, financial reporting and decision-making purposes.
· Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities through data analysis to support business growth and operational efficiency.
· Develop and maintain financial models, databases, and systems to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.
Financial Planning and Analysis
· Conduct financial analysis and performance evaluation of the company's operations, including revenue, costs, and profitability.
· Develop financial models, forecasts, and projections to support strategic planning initiatives.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial data and provide recommendations for improving financial performance.
· Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights into variances, trends, and potential risks or opportunities.
Budgeting and Forecasting
· Assist in the development and preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
· Analyze actual financial results against budgeted and forecasted figures, identifying, and explaining key variances.
· Provide support and guidance to department managers in the budgeting and forecasting process.
· Make recommendations for cost control and optimization based on financial analysis.
Reporting and Presentation
· Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and dashboards for management and key stakeholders.
· Summarize complex information into clear and concise reports, highlighting key findings and actionable insights.
· Communicate results, analysis, and recommendations effectively to all stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
· Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, tools, and best practices in data design, financial analysis and reporting.
· Identify process improvements and implement streamlined methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial analysis.
· Create and implement detective controls, monitoring controls and exception reporting using databases, data warehouses and other systems. Other duties as assigned from time to time.
Requirements
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, computer science, data science, finance, accounting, or a related field.
Experience and Skills
· Experience in data analysis, financial planning and analysis or accounting.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, interpret, and analyze complex financial data.
· Proficiency in data architecture, design, collection, validation and modeling.
· Experience working with SQL, Python, VBA, and other languages, business intelligence tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, Power Query, and Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric or similar software.
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.

· Walk and stand for extended periods of time; walk and stand on uneven surfaces; ascend and descend multiple stairs.

· Visual acuity is needed for computer utilization and operational visits.
· Be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects of fifty pounds or more.

· In-office role, located in Kansas City, MO
· Travel: 0-10% or as needed
