General Function:

The ideal candidate should also possess the ability to design and architect customer solutions. The candidate should be technically competent in at least one (preferably two) technology area of focus (Server, Virtualization and Storage are preferred) where they at time to time will be required to lead an implementation and deployment team in that area of focus. Within your region you are viewed as the "go to" networking person and you are engaged whenever an opportunity requires your area of expertise. This position is expected to participate in client and prospect meetings as technical sales support and must be able to communicate with both technical and business audiences.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Helping equip sales generalists with basic understanding of our solutions

  • Participate in sales presentations in a technological role, answering technical questions and offering solutions

  • Consultatively analyzing a client's needs and determining the best solution for the prospect

  • Delivering short term billable engagements to analyze a client's environment, and provide an assessment of needs and ROI of various solutions

  • Coordinating other technical resources as necessary

  • Finding solutions with the optimum combination of hardware, software, and services to meet the prospect's needs

  • Playing a key role in the development of the bid and proposal, and presenting the solution to the prospect

  • Developing the statement of work for the solution

  • Working with vendor partners to help drive business and deliver demand generation events

  • Maintain account relationships over time to continue to deliver advice to the client and identify additional opportunities

  • Maintain and manage a sales pipeline and forecasts against regional goals.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with sales accounts. 

  • Individuals should have 5 years of sales engineer experience, preferably in the information technology market place. This position will be performing technical support for sales, solution development and delivery

General office environment

Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
