Perioperative Services at HHS West Lincoln Memorial Hospital site supports community hospital services, providing all aspects of surgical care, pre-operatively, intra-operatively, and post-operatively for adults. WLMH focuses on adult surgical procedures which include: general surgery, endoscopy, orthopedics, dental, plastics, obstetrics, and gynecology.
As a member of the healthcare team, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the coordination and evaluation of patient care within the Operating Room and PACU. The Registered Nurse works in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team to provide nursing care to patients within the perioperative environment.

Monday-Friday days, afternoons (stand-by/on-call: evenings/nights/weekends/holidays)
Must be within a thirty minute radius to the hospital for on-call

1. Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
2. Current BCLS; ACLS certification a definite asset
3. Perioperative certification required and/or perioperative experience
4. Demonstrated recent clinical expertise/experience in Operating Room and PACU within the last two years required
5. Certified in I.V. starts
6. Endoscopy suite experience
7. RNAO, ORNAC, or NAPAN membership preferred
8. Peri-anaesthesia Nursing Course and/or HHS CPO program completion
9. Recent experience in PACU nursing within the last two years
10. Evidence of ongoing professional development and continuing education management of adults, including airway management, invasive cardiac monitoring, pain management, and invasive pressure line monitoring
11. Demonstrated knowledge of anaesthetic techniques and of post-anaesthesia assessment and management of sedated patients
12. Demonstrated ability to interact with patients, families and other members of the health care team in an effective, professional, caring manner
13. Demonstrated ability to work independently and part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast paced adult care environment
14. Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
15. Recent experience in the assessment and management of patients with acute pain preferred within the last the last two years
