Schedule: Continental Rotation – 08:00–20:00 / 20:00–08:00
Pay Rate: $29.77/hour

Overview

As a Security Operator at Kingston Health Sciences Centre, you will oversee a state-of-the-art healthcare Control Centre responsible for monitoring critical systems, dispatching security resources, and maintaining the safety and security of the hospital environment. Responsibilities

• Monitor fire and life safety systems, access control, CCTV, and other critical security technologies.
• Track and deploy security staff based on operational needs.
• Receive and process incident calls, dispatch duties, and requests for assistance.
• Dispatch Security Guards to incidents, emergencies, and calls for service.
• Control access to and from the property in accordance with hospital policy.
• Maintain accurate logs for radio transmissions, phone calls, and verbal instructions.
• Provide backup support to security staff as needed.
• Inform management of major incidents or urgent security concerns.
• Maintain the Camera Surveillance System.
• Answer incoming security phone lines, including emergency lines.
• Ensure all operations follow established procedures and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, Pertussis, and TB Skin Tests – Step 1 & 2).
• Valid First Aid/CPR – Level C certification (from a WSIB-approved vendor).
• Ability to be clean shaven in order to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test.
• Minimum 6+ months of experience in a control centre or dispatch role.
• Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
