Job Title: Clinical Social Worker
Position Summary:
Join our multidisciplinary team as a Clinical Social Worker II, where you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive psychological and social care to a dedicated caseload of patients and their families. In this position, you will conduct in-depth social work assessments, identify patient needs, set achievable goals, and implement effective care plans. You'll have the opportunity to coordinate referrals to external agencies, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
As a vital member of our team, you will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals while offering leadership and expertise in your specialty area, optimizing patient outcomes. You will also provide clinical oversight and consultation in the absence of the Clinical Social Worker III/Director. This role emphasizes clinical practice, education, and research, and includes mentorship opportunities for aspiring social workers. On-call coverage may be required as needed.
Key Competencies:
A. Education:
- Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited institution.
B. Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of biopsychosocial and cultural elements in clinical social work practice.
- Familiarity with organizational procedures, systems, and objectives in social work.
- Comprehensive knowledge of community resources and the current healthcare landscape.
- Proficient in data collection and analysis to inform patient care decisions.
- Awareness of the medical and psychosocial effects of illness on social functioning, particularly within the specific patient population.
C. Skills:
- Outstanding oral and written communication abilities to effectively interact with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families.
- Proven experience delivering social work services in mental health and healthcare settings.
- Strong analytical skills for assessing patient needs, designing treatment plans, and implementing interventions.
- Capacity to identify organizational challenges and recommend enhancements to patient care.
- Ability to work independently while demonstrating higher-level analytical skills for complex patient assessments and counseling.
D. Licensure & Certification:
- Must hold a license from the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners at the LCSW-C level.
- If licensed in another state, applicants should possess comparable qualifications and meet board requirements. An application for licensure pending with the Board or successful completion of prescribed examinations is also acceptable.
