Full-time position available with the Aviation Department, Airport Police Division, located at 1 International
Sq. Normal Work Days/Hours: Varies based on operational needs
• Enforces Federal, State and local laws with respect to City Ordinances, TSA Mandates, and Missouri state
statutes.
• Serves as commanding officer of a shift, monitoring and regulating assignments.
• Ensures the observance of high ethical standards of personnel under his/her supervision.
• Promotes and maintains lines of communication from top management down to all subordinates and upward
from the line personnel to top management.
• Responds to requests for police assistance from airport tenants, concessionaires and the public.
• Conducts formal performance appraisals of Airport Police Sergeants in order to inform them of their
productivity and efficiency.

REQUIRES an accredited bachelor's degree and 3 years of supervisory experience as a certified law enforcement
officer; OR high school graduation and 7 years of experience as a certified law enforcement officer, with 3 of those
years being supervisory experience. Must have current Missouri POST certification. Must be at least 21 years of
age. Must pass a physical examination as prescribed by the City and must be eligible to obtain a special police
commission as issued by the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department, Board of Police Commissioners. Must pass a
psychological evaluation. Must possess a valid State –issued driver’s license in accordance with City of KCMO
policies. Must successfully complete a TSA criminal history background check and pass a preemployment drug
screen.
Salary Range: Salary Range: $5,794/month
