💼 Position Summary

The Senior Scheduling Coordinator communicates regularly with physicians, patients, and ancillary/surgical areas to manage scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellation of single or multiple tests and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

  • Maintains appropriate departmental schedules.
  • May provide feedback to the manager for HR functions such as hiring, coaching, and counseling.
  • Efficiently and accurately gathers and inputs patient demographic information, verifies insurance/authorization, and schedules procedures.
  • Accurately communicates preparation instructions, arrival time, and location to patients.
  • Inputs and distributes charge management processes daily; schedules and cancels multiple diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Demonstrates understanding of Orlando Health’s Patient First Philosophy and commitment to exemplary customer service.
  • Reviews schedules daily and communicates all changes to appropriate staff.
Qualifications:

Education/Training

  • High school diploma required
  • Medical terminology and/or basic anatomy training required
  • Substitution:
    • Associate’s degree in business, information systems, clinical field, or related area may substitute for up to two (2) years of experience

Licensure/Certification

  • None required

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in clinical registration and scheduling
  • Associate’s degree in business, information systems, clinical field, or related area may substitute for two years of experience
