Role Summary:
This role is responsible for looking after the overall Safety of Plant and its preparedness from which our target will be Zero accident. No compromise in safety and adherence of safety compliances without any deviations.
Roles and Responsibility:
- Ensure compliance with Factories Act, OSHA standards, and local statutory requirements.
- Maintain permits, licenses, and documentation for audits by regulatory authorities.
- Monitor and enforce safe work practices across production, maintenance, and material handling areas.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all employees.
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA) for all processes.
- Implement control measures for high-risk activities like working at height, confined space entry, and machine operations.
- Organize induction training for new employees and contractors.
- Conduct toolbox talks, refresher training, and awareness programs on topics like fire safety, chemical handling, and ergonomics.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Prepare root cause analysis reports and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Develop and maintain Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
- Conduct fire drills, evacuation drills, and ensure readiness of emergency equipment.
- Perform daily safety rounds and periodic audits of machinery, electrical systems, and storage areas.
- Ensure compliance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Monitor storage and handling of chemicals and hazardous waste as per MSDS guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with Hazardous Waste Management Rules.
- Maintain records of training, inspections, incidents, and permits.
- Liaise with production, maintenance, and EHS teams to integrate safety into operations.
- Act as a point of contact during statutory inspections and audits.
