We have an opportunity for a Research Fellow with expertise in breast cancer imaging and screening research to join the Breast Cancer Clinical & Population Health Research group in the Daffodil Centre. The Research Fellow will develop new projects and grant applications in breast screening and contribute to Centre collaborations including work relevant to diversity. The role requires skills and experience in evidence synthesis and breast imaging and/or clinical research. A track record in breast imaging and screening research or screening trials would be highly regarded.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Co-lead and potentially lead on research work in breast cancer prevention, including cancer screening, and undertake screening trials or large-scale cohort studies
provide direction and mentorship to Level A researchers in the team and post-graduate students
design, partake, and undertake public health and population screening studies, and breast cancer imaging research
seek out research synergies and network within and outside the Daffodil Centre research groups
actively contribute to research through clinical trial activities and real-world implementation studies.
About you
PhD in a Public Health-related field or breast cancer imaging-related field
experience in co-leading or leading research projects, particularly in breast imaging; peer-reviewed publications including first-authored work; data and statistical skills; evidence of grant success commensurate with level (eg awarded Fellowship)
knowledge of systematic reviews and evidence appraisal; good communication skills, and ability to work as part of a large collaboration
previous successful work with BreastScreen program.
