The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join our Utilities - Water Services team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this full-time role is based in Mango Hill and offers the chance to contribute to the financial performance of essential water infrastructure projects.

You’ll partner closely with project and finance teams to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and insight across the project lifecycle. This is a great opportunity for a motivated finance professional who thrives on data analysis, cost control, and supporting project delivery within a high-performing business unit.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and maintain project budgets and forecasts in InEight and JDE systems.
  • Oversee month-end reporting, cost accruals, and cash flow forecasting aligned to project milestones.
  • Analyse financial performance, identify variances, and provide actionable insights.
  • Maintain and update cost control registers, including risk and opportunity logs.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years’ experience in project cost management, ideally within capital construction or infrastructure.
  • Strong financial and cost control acumen, with proficiency in InEight, JDE, or similar systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong data analysis and reporting capability.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, analytical mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
