Do you love working with preschool-age children and creating meaningful learning experiences? We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Lead Preschool Educator to guide a busy, joyful classroom of curious 3–4-year-olds. In this role, you will lead the daily classroom activities, plan engaging lessons, and support each child’s individual development—without formal supervisory responsibilities.
This is the perfect opportunity for someone who wants to take on a leadership role in the classroom while focusing deeply on children’s growth and the joy of teaching.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the daily classroom routine and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
- Create engaging learning opportunities across all domains—social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative.
- Partner with classroom aides and assistants to maintain a positive, well-organized learning environment.
- Conduct developmental assessments and maintain accurate records, including lesson plans, attendance, anecdotals, and reports.
- Hold parent/teacher conferences and maintain regular communication with families through daily updates, phone calls, newsletters, and take-home notes.
- Build strong, positive relationships with children, families, and co-workers, following the PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) framework.
- Ensure the classroom environment is safe, clean, and conducive to learning, keeping materials in good repair and stored safely.
- Support licensing and quality standards, including DHS, STARS, and NAEYC requirements.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and annual professional development activities.
- Assist with daily routines such as handwashing, transitions, and health and safety practices.
- Step in to support classroom needs as required, helping maintain smooth daily operations.
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
- Loves working with preschoolers and understands their developmental milestones.
- Has strong classroom leadership skills without seeking a formal supervisory role.
- Demonstrates warmth, patience, creativity, and excellent communication skills.
- Can lift up to 50 lbs and engage in daily physical activity such as kneeling, bending, and sitting on the floor.
- Holds or is willing to obtain required clearances, CPR/First Aid certification, and physical.
Why You’ll Love Working Here:
- Lead your own classroom while working in a supportive, collaborative environment.
- Enjoy a balance of creativity, structure, and play-based learning.
- Build meaningful relationships with children and families.
- Benefit from professional development and opportunities to grow your skills.
