Director of Digital Assets (GM – ThinkCrypto) at ThinkMarkets

As we expand into the next frontier of finance, we are launching ThinkCrypto, a fully integrated digital assets ecosystem focused on trading, staking, stablecoins, DeFi access, and blockchain-native product innovation. 

We are looking for a proven, commercially driven crypto leader to join us as Director of Digital Assets, acting as the General Manager of ThinkCrypto. 

You will define the strategy, build the roadmap, drive product execution, lead marketing and growth, scale a world-class team, and operate as the first person on the ground for our digital assets business in Chicago. This role is fully cross-functional and reports directly to the CEO. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic Leadership 

• Build the long-term vision for ThinkCrypto across trading, staking, yield products, DeFi access, stablecoins, and wallet infrastructure. 

• Define the commercial strategy: product-market fit, go-to-market, monetization, regional expansion. 

• Drive cross-functional alignment across Technology, Product & UX, Marketing, Compliance/Legal, Operations, and Finance. 

• Identify and secure partnerships with leading blockchain protocols, liquidity providers, custodians, and stablecoin issuers. 

Product & Technology Oversight 

• Lead product strategy for web + mobile crypto trading and wallet platforms. 

• Oversee UI/UX direction to ensure seamless, secure, compliant, and high-performance user experiences. 

• Ensure platforms support high performance, regulatory clarity, and user trust. 

• Stay ahead of blockchain ecosystems (L1/L2, tokenomics, smart contracts, NFTs, DeFi primitives) and embed relevant innovation into the product roadmap. 

Commercial Growth & Marketing 

• Build the go-to-market plan across retail and institutional audiences. 

• Drive acquisition, retention, paid media, affiliate/influencer ecosystems, and community activation. 

• Drive key KPIs: user growth, retention, trading volume, wallet activation, Total Value Locked (TVL), staking participation, revenue per user. 

• Design pricing, rewards, incentive systems, and token-utility frameworks aligned with platform growth. 

• Expand ThinkCrypto’s reach through strategic partnerships with DeFi protocols and institutional crypto players. 

Operations & Leadership 

• Act as the division head and build a high-performing team across Product, Design, Ops, Marketing, and Growth. 

• Manage P&L, performance targets, budgets, and resource allocation. 

• Ensure alignment with U.S. and global regulatory requirements. 

• Represent ThinkCrypto at industry events, conferences, ecosystem meetups, and media engagements. 

Requirements :  

Must- Have 

• 10+ years in fintech, trading platforms, blockchain/crypto, or Web3 — with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or founder/operator role. 

• Proven track record of scaling a crypto application, exchange, Web3 platform, or DeFi protocol from early stage to meaningful adoption. 

• Deep expertise in blockchain protocols, smart contracts, tokenomics, stablecoins, liquidity mechanics. 

• Strong commercial background across acquisition, retention, growth analytics, monetization, and financial modelling. 

• Hands-on crypto marketing experience (affiliates, influencers, paid performance, community growth). 

• Experience leading cross-functional product + engineering teams. 

• Strong leadership presence — comfortable influencing at C-suite and driving decisions end-to-end. 

• Already in or open to relocating to Chicago, with a strong in-office presence. 

Nice-to-Have 

• Experience within regulated crypto exchange or brokerage environments. 

• Experience integrating DeFi features (staking, liquidity pools, yield farming) into centralized or hybrid models. 

• Hands-on UI/UX experience within crypto/trading products. 

• Exposure to multi-regional operations (LATAM, EU, APAC). 

 Compensation & Package 

• Market-leading base salary. 

• Performance-based bonus tied to division growth and KPIs. 

• Full relocation of support to Chicago (if required)
