Position Overview
The Membership Intern supports the Austin PBS Membership team in its mission to grow and engage a community of donors who make public media possible. Working under the supervision of the Membership Manager, the intern assists in day-to-day operations that sustain member communications, fundraising campaigns, and stewardship activities.
This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit development and donor engagement, ideal for students interested in public media, membership programs, and fundraising.
Role & Responsibilities
- Produce well-crafted, engaging copy for fundraising and membership related emails to members and prospective members.
- Assist with managing project flow of membership campaigns related to Raffles, Quarterly On-Air Pledge Drives, Vehicle Donations, Planned Giving, and other membership fundraising opportunities.
- Assist the Membership Manager in the planning and implementation process of the Spring Membership On-Air Fund Drive and Amplify Austin Day.
- Evaluate, provide edits to and create website content as it relates to membership initiatives and campaigns.
- Assistance at occasional daytime and evening events like Overheard with Evan Smith and Made in Austin
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Current undergraduate student, must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program during the full duration of the internship
- In-person availability required two days a week (hybrid internship) for 15–20 hours weekly
- Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for detail and storytelling
- Experience with Canva preferred
- Willingness to collaborate, take feedback constructively, and learn new tools or systems
- Writing samples are required for consideration (PDF, portfolio link, website, etc.)
Physical Demands
Work is primarily conducted in a general office setting. Occasional travel to the office or events may be required.
