**WE ARE POSTING FOR BOTH AN HR COORDINATOR POSITION AND HR BUSINESS PARTNER, BUT PLAN TO HIRE JUST ONE OF THE TWO POSITIONS**
Overview/Function: The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for a variety of efforts which supports the HR team. They hold responsibility in facilitating the talent acquisition process, compiling and maintaining information, generating reports, and assisting with special HR-related projects. HR is a partner with every department and must interact with the highest level of integrity and trust.
Major Responsibilities:
- Coordinate recruitment efforts, internal job postings, writing and posting external job ads through various resources, scheduling phone and on-site interviews.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with college, university and community college placement offices as a source to generate qualified applicants.
- Schedule and attend job/career fairs to generate qualified applicants.
- Provide information on company operations and job opportunities to potential applicants.
- Screen and refer qualified applicants to hiring manager for interview consideration.
- Arrange travel and lodging for applicants.
- Timely correspond with job applicants to notify them of opportunities.
- Develop and conduct training programs for managers designed to improve recruiting and hiring efficiencies and reduce turnover.
- Work with external testing vendors (i.e. background checks, DOT and non-DOT drug testing, physicals, MVR checks, etc.).
- Conduct new employee orientations.
- Monitor/enter applicants into tracking tool.
- Work with managers with on-boarding efforts.
- Conduct a number of administrative tasks (i.e. filling and maintenance of employment files, copying, data entry, conducting E-verify checks, etc.); Work to ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
- Work with external vendors (i.e. relocation, recruitment/staffing, pre-employment, etc.)
- Maintain Personnel Handbook and other HR documents.
- Work with HR team with on-going projects.
- Maintain human resource information system records, keeping confidential HR information in strict confidence.
- Positively respond to employee requests for HR information and/or support.
- Prepare standard and ad-hoc HR-related reports, such as recruitment activities, applicant quality, cost-to-recruit, etc.
- Coordinate company events and create monthly company newsletter.
- Other related administrative duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree with at least 2 years of related administrative support experience. (Additional related HR experience may substitute for education.)
- Previous background in Human Resources is desired, including recruitment and selection.
- Solid experience with employment law regulations is needed. Familiarity with COBRA, ADA, FMLA, HIPAA and other related state and federal regulations is preferred
- A positive, supportive, employee and customer-focused attitude is required.
- Excellent team-player; Strong ability to effectively interact with multiple departments with the ability to interact with the highest level of integrity and trust. Ability to maintain a high level of confidential information.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills are essential. Strong multi-tasking skills are needed.
- Good computer skills (MS Office) and database management skills is needed.
- Flexible with the ability to adapt to varying situations.
- Consistent, regular attendance is an essential job function.
Additional:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position will be office-based, however may spend occasional time at our facilities throughout the region. A variety of physical abilities are needed, such as the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, kneel, and bend as needed. The ability to climb stairs, stand, walk, twist, grasp, reach, push, pull, sit, stoop, crouch, and climb will be required.
- Some occasional state-wide travel may be needed to support our multiple locations, and for off-site recruitment efforts (i.e job fairs, college and high school partnerships).
- The typical hours will be Monday-Friday (8:00 am 5:00 pm) however some evening and weekend work may be required.
