INNOVIM is seeking a Software Engineer, Associate to support NASA’s Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) Evolution and Development 3 (EED-3) contract based out of Annapolis, Maryland.

All candidates must be able to pass a National Agency Clearance with Inquires (NACI) screening
Primary Responsibilities:
The candidate will work in a fast-paced Agile development environment developing, designing and providing operational support for software including NASA's Earthdata Search. As a member of the EED-3 team, the software developer will build and support innovative tools allowing scientists and students alike to discover, transform, update, and improve the quality of earth science data in the pursuit of solving a wide range of environmental and socio-economic issues. This includes supporting the deployment of product updates, identifying production issues and constructing scalable architecture.
Responsibilities include:
- Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle from user story generation, through design, development, automated testing and operational support
- Develop new feature ideas to meet the ever-evolving needs of our end-users
- Continually help the team grow by sharing new ideas and industry best practices
- Suggest improvements to processes and tools to help the team be more efficient
- Strong understanding of front-end technologies and frameworks (e.g., React)
Required Skills:
- Strong background in cloud environments (AWS preferred) EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway.
- Proficiency in Node.JS/React and other programming languages such as JavaScript, Python.
- Strong grounding in Agile/Scrum methodologies and use of tools like Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and software development lifecycle practices.
- Ability and initiative in problem-solving and debugging for large-scale distributed systems.
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Experience with geospatial/GIS data formats and tools (GeoJSON, KML, ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Familiarity with machine learning/AI concepts.
- Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch for search and data operations.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Prometheus.
- Prior experience presenting at technical conferences or leading knowledge-sharing sessions.
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 3 years of software development experience.
