Role Overview
The Business Applications Manager oversees the full lifecycle of enterprise applications, standardizes processes across departments, and ensures alignment with operational strategy and regulatory needs
Combining technical expertise with strong business understanding, the position drives digital transformation, improves system performance, and ensures platforms are implemented, optimized, and integrated in a way that effectively supports business operations and data management
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the lifecycle of enterprise applications, including configuration, upgrades, integrations, and performance optimization
Develop and maintain system roadmaps that support scalability, efficiency, and innovation
Work closely with business teams to understand processes, gather requirements, and translate needs into application enhancements or new solutions
Analyze and harmonize workflows across departments to ensure consistent and efficient use of applications
Manage vendor relationships, including contracts, SLAs, and support escalations
Lead or support projects related to new applications, integrations, improvements, major upgrades, coordinating deliverables, and change management
Maintain accurate documentation of application configurations, processes, and change history. Support compliance with IT policies and regulatory requirements
Ensure data integrity and seamless integration across platforms
Promote user adoption through effective communication, training, and support
Stay current with new releases and technology trends to recommend improvements
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, business administration, or related field
- 7+ years of experience managing or supporting enterprise applications, ideally in aviation, logistics, or transportation
- Strong understanding of business processes across operations, finance, HR, and commercial areas
- Experience with full application lifecycle management, vendor relations, and contract/SLA oversight
- Hands-on experience with APIs, integrations, SQL, reporting tools, and workflow automation
- Familiarity with aviation operational systems (MRO, flight operations, movement logs, crew systems) highly preferred
- Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, or similar are an advantage
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills
- Ability to work after hours as needed for critical system escalations
