Ohio Wesleyan University, a selective, private, undergraduate liberal arts, residential institution founded in 1842 and located just 20 miles north of Columbus, is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Camp Manager. This is a TEMPORARY 3 TO 5 WEEK POSITION WITHOUT BENEFITS.

Job Summary:
The Assistant Camp Manager supports the Camp Manager in overseeing overnight operations at OWL Camp. This role focuses on daily implementation—assisting with supervision, transitions, dorm routines, and evening activities. The Assistant Camp Manager helps reinforce expectations, provides on-the-ground support to family group leaders, and ensures camper safety and well-being.
Responsibilities and duties:Support the Camp Manager in overseeing overnight operations and daily camp routines
Monitor family group leader supervision and camper engagement during meals, transitions, and free time
Assist with dorm routines including nightly check-ins, lights out, and quiet hours
Reinforce camp policies and Core 4 values throughout daily programming
Provide backup during behavioral challenges and supervision needs
Help facilitate evening activities and Family Group sessions
Assist in responding to safety incidents and documenting camper concerns
Be visible and accessible during high-risk times (evenings, transitions, unstructured time)
Participate in camper check-out, dorm tear-down, and final inventory
Submit assigned documentation and reports by established deadlines
Other duties as assigned
