ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Participates in all aspects of emergency shelter.
  • Follows Agency guidelines and policies.
  • Attends and participates in Agency related meetings and trainings as appropriate.
  • Participates in continuing education and training especially related to the field of child abuse and neglect.
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with all children, and maintains awareness of each child’s status at all times.
  • Establishes and maintains positive and professional relationships with staff and outside contacts.
  • Maintains residential calendar for emergency shelter.
  • Maintains appropriate and complete documentation as needed.
  • Interacting professionally with other parties such as Child Protective Services Case Worker, parents, guardians, and other involved parties including Psychiatrist, Psychologists, RBHA, Shelter Aide, Parent Aides, CASA, Tribal Social Services, etc.
  • Coordinates visitation/contact of children with family members and others as       deemed appropriate.
  • Coordinates appointments including medical, specialty medical and others related to child’s welfare as assigned.
  • Coordinates or provides transportation for appointments as assigned.
  • Attends quarterly team meetings, MDT’s and other meetings as scheduled by supervisor.
  • Assists in accessing and coordinating needed services for children.
  • Answers Crisis Calls and assists callers with needed information and referrals for further assistance.
  • Answers Intake Calls and determines if it is an appropriate placement for shelter. 
  • Completes chart review weekly on all children.
  • Seeks out and utilizes consultation services from other Agency staff as appropriate.
  • Attends Court on behalf of clients as needed.
  • Performs initial and ongoing assessments as needed.
  • Coordinates the emotional and social needs of a child with staff.
  • Plans visits and referral appointments with family and accompanying as appropriate.
  • Advocates for children and families, as appropriate.
  • Works with children, individually and in small groups, to meet therapeutic goals.
  • Creates support plans that accurately capture the strengths, needs and culture of the child and/or family.
  • Models Center’s expectation for sensitivity and competency relating to diversity and cultural awareness.

           

Qualifications


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One year of full time experience in case management.
  • Experience working with children in the DCS system preferred.
  • Must have a valid Arizona Driver’s License
  • Must possess valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card or able to obtain one prior to employment
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have experience in word processing in a Windows environment.
  • Must be able to display verbal and written communication skills that meet the requirements of the position and needs of clients.
