Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment.


The primary responsibilities of the Research Technician will be to assist in histological analysis of mouse tissues, microscopy, and other biochemical assays (Western Blotting, Elisa, PCR). The candidate will be trained in cell sorting techniques, Next Gen sequencing and analysis of transcriptional profiles, histology techniques, and confocal microscopy. The candidate will help maintain transgenic mouse colony; perform all needed animal husbandry tasks and genotyping. The incumbent will be asked to help maintain and perform in vitro experiments. The incumbent will also assist processing and handling of samples associated with different studies, including sample entry into a central database. The candidate will also be expected to assist with database entry and data management, as well as daily lab operations. The candidate should be highly motivated, well-organized, and detail-oriented. The individual should be able to prioritize multiple tasks and work independent. Preference will be given to a candidate who has animal handling experience or background in biomedical research. Advanced computer skills are a plus.
