District 27 is searching for an enthusiastic, child-centered special educator to join our team and support our students with disabilities. This position will begin after winter break and continue for the remainder of the school year, with the possibility of continued employment for the 2026-27 school year. Resource teachers in District 27 support students with various disabilities in an inclusive environment. Our service delivery model includes providing reading and math small group instruction, supporting students in general education, and working directly with colleagues to ensure the needs of students are met in the least restrictive environment. LBS1 resource teachers also act as student case managers on a multidisciplinary team.
Northbrook School District 27 is a professional learning community with approximately 1,300 students across three schools, educating students to succeed in a changing world. Qualified candidates should possess a valid IL PEL with an LBS1 endorsement. Preferred candidates will have at least two years of prior classroom experience.
Salary and benefits for this position are covered by the District 27 Negotiated Agreement between the Board of Education and the Teachers Association. Salary will be determined based on experience and level of education. Multiple medical benefit plans are available to employees and are considered exemplary compared to those of other districts.
