Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Staff Accountant – Branch Operations. The Staff Accountant – Branch Operations performs diversified and complex accounting transactions and office functions related to the operation of branches within the assigned regions, in accordance with standard procedures.   Performs account analysis, reconciliations, and researches outstanding items for assigned branches. Performs financial statement reviews to ensure accuracy. Researches discrepancies, provides recommendations on corrections, and prepares and posts correcting journal entries. Assists with fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, and recordkeeping. Assists with month-end close and reporting functions, including preparation of accrual entries, calculating monthly commissions as determined by current commission plans, balancing sub-ledger to general ledger accounts, etc. Supports the Branch Operations Accounting Supervisor to drive operational process improvements, adaptations, or revisions in the accounting system and procedures. Performs payroll administrative duties including, but not limited to, transferring payroll files, Work in Process time changes, and investigating and resolving issues. Assists with branch administration of payables including, but not limited to, coding payables, vendor set up, and working missing invoice list. Provides backup for Branch Office Specialist duties including, but not limited to, cash handling activities, ordering supplies, and other duties, as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor, including assistance with special projects and ad hoc reporting requests. Apply Now
