Description

80 DSP Psychosocial Program

Full-time Position Day shift Monday - Friday 8 am - 3:30 pm

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:  

  • Initiate and direct meaningful discussion within the Program space amongst all participants, acting as a coach and direct support as needed.  
  • Have a good working knowledge of each participant’s diagnosis(s) medical status, and personal goals. 
  • Have excellent communication skills and ability to work well as a team. 
  • Support Individuals in decision-making, assist the Individuals in their program goal, social, and leisure activities, assist in community integration, and support family relationships.  
  • Support Individuals in meeting their personal outcomes by providing the appropriate level of support by following their care plan to improve their working knowledge and mastery of their specified goals. 
  • Be attentive to and report any health and safety concerns of Individuals. This includes Meal Time Cards. 
  • Monitor and record daily data on personal outcomes and engagement levels. 
  • Follow emergency procedures accurately and promptly, such as CPR, First Aid, Heimlich Maneuver, and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI). 
  • Demonstrate understanding of active and reflective listening, patience, modeling, positive regard for all Individuals, empathy and compassion, trustworthiness, and dependability.  

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Utilize proper lifting techniques in all areas. 
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and squat. 
  • Ability to push, pull, reach, and stretch. 
  • Ability to run as needed in emergency situations. 

 

Qualifications


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: 

  • Experience with and knowledge of the condition of Dual Diagnosis (IDD and mental health challenges)  

 

DUTIES: 

  • Documentation of each participants’ engagement and progress. 
  • Upkeep of program space/materials: dishes, sweeping, mopping, etc 
  • Leading program activities, and assisting participants in completing program activities:       cooking, crafts, educational/skill related, recreation, etc.   
  • Actively supervising and engaging with participants: monitor for risk or safety concerns. 
  • Attend monthly department and supervision meetings.  
  • Assist Program Manager with preparation of lessons and teaching as needed. 
  • Assist with billing, authorizations and performing variety of daily administrative tasks.
