Utah Community Action of Salt Lake City, UT, is seeking to hire a full-time, year-round Program Specialist to supervise and coach our Head Start Teachers.

Summary
The Program Specialist ensures that the program complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies. They supervise and support teaching staff, set clear expectations, and help guide their professional development through training and resources. They assist teachers in utilizing the Creative Curriculum and the TSG Online Assessment System, and review classroom data to support improvements in child outcomes. The Program Specialist conducts Family Reviews, works with all departments to ensure high-quality services, and regularly visits classrooms to check compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. They identify needed classroom materials and communicate these needs to the Program Coordinator. They also help staff set goals, provide supportive and reflective supervision, and respect each family's cultural beliefs and home language. In addition, they stay current in the field by participating in ongoing professional development.
Required Education, Experience, Licenses
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education, Family and Consumer Studies, or in a related field with an emphasis in Early Childhood essential topics.
- 2-year supervisory experience.
- Must complete and maintain Infant Toddler and Preschool CLASS certification (within first 3 months of employment).
Preferred Education and Experience, Licenses
- Previous Head Start experience.
- Must complete and maintain Infant/Toddler and Preschool CLASS certification.
- Bilingual in languages spoken by families served by UCA.
