S&S Transport is looking for a looking for a savvy parts associate to join our growing team of service department employees. You’ll handle everything from interfacing with service technicians to managing our inventory of heavy truck parts. The ideal candidate is highly organized and has in-depth product knowledge of heavy truck and trailer parts. Pay is based on experience.
Parts Manager responsibilities:
- Manage the parts inventory levels closely for our repair needs
- Monitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence.
- Works with the shop manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
- Provides technical assistance to parts department employees.
- Coordinates a prompt, efficient and timely flow of paperwork.
- Directs shipping and receiving efforts to ensure timely processing
- Track records for parts warranties
- Order parts that meet the cost and quality standards of the automotive parts department, dealership, and vehicle manufacturers
- Employ strong negotiation and communication skills to secure the most competitive price for replacement parts that can yield a profitable ROI when used for repairs
- Light maintenance and other assigned duties
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- At least one year of experience in truck repair and parts
- Management experience is a plus
- Excellent product knowledge, customer service skills, administrative skills, and organizational skills are necessary to manage inventory effectively
