Responsibilities:
Design and develop tests to generate performance data that meet internal and external customer program objectives.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company technology, customer needs, market trends, and industry direction.
Maintain safe work practices and adhere to all safety regulations.
Comply with all ISO and quality system requirements, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement.
Maintain productive relationships with team members and both internal and external customers.
Prepare technical reports and deliver presentations as needed to both internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.
A minimum of two years of experience in a testing environment, preferably within automotive, fuels, emissions, or lubricant testing.
Experience with the design, construction, and commissioning of test cells, rigs, or other research tools is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of vehicles, engines, transmissions, and associated electronics.
Solid understanding of PID control.
Skills & Abilities:
Working knowledge of SI and CI engines, fuel management systems, electronic engine control, CAN communication, and basic instrumentation and test cell hardware.
Strong project management skills (MS Project) and the ability to run projects with minimal supervision.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments.
Strong presentation development and delivery skills.
Customer service-oriented with a proactive approach to assignments.
Able to handle multiple work interruptions while maintaining focus on detail.
Proficiency in routine computer applications.
Basic knowledge of statistics is desirable.
Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels, from technicians to executives.
Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively.
