Job Summary:
Mercury Systems IPS Data Processing business unit is developing sophisticated mission-critical technology to withstand the most rugged embedded environments. We have a career opportunity for an experience electrical/hardware engineer to play a key role as a key team member developing and sustaining data storage and transfer systems for the Data Systems Product Line, while contributing directly to hardware development efforts on programs.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a world class electrical engineering team that involves in complete hardware development life cycle of new products to bring cutting-edge technology to mission-critical aerospace and defense applications. Job Responsibilities:
- Design electronics hardware using modern schematic capture tools
- Design, develop and test/verify complex circuits, modules or systems to meet customer and market requirements.
- Coordinate with production personnel to resolve manufacturing issues or field failure investigation
- Collaborate with the hardware design team to improve processes for design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA) and design for test (DFT) activities
- Manage the hardware development process including schematic design, layout, design verification testing, validation and optimization of hardware design and integration to meet program schedule
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Ideally 2-4 years experience in hardware/electrical engineering design
- Experience in using test equipment such as spectrum analyzer and high-speed oscilloscopes.
- Experience or knowledge in highspeed digital interfaces such as PCIe, HDMI, Ethernet and SATA
- Experience or knowledge with Video input and output processing
- Experience or knowledge in military test standards, such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-704.
- Work experience in using hardware design tools such as Cadence Concept, Cadence Capture and SPICE
- This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance in the future. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related
- Experience or knowledge in Allegro PCB Designer, HyperLynx, Mentor Graphics Valydate
- Experience or knowledge in aerospace industry standards or certification process for airborne electronic hardware
- Strong knowledge of hardware engineering development process
- Excellent analytical & critical thinking skills
