Wood is recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter / Leading Hand to join our maintenance team at the Ampol Refinery in Brisbane, Australia.
Applicants must have full work rights in Australia to be considered for the role.
The Role
Location: Lytton Refinery, site based
This role is to replace a team member who has moved to another project.
Successful applicant with Leading Hand and hazardous area experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities
- Pump alignment,
- Compressor and turbine rebuilding, servicing and maintenance
- Use of SAP for materials and data input
- Participate in the on call after hours roster
- Preservation of rotating and static equipment
- Demonstrated experience in pressure testing
- Asset maintenance background
- Experience with data assessment, ordering spares and recording (Microsoft Excel).
Qualifications
- Trade qualified with proven maintenance experience in heavy industry environments
- Knowledge of compressors, pumps, valves, vessels, pipework, PSV's etc
- Previous rotating, alignment and hazardous area experience would be advantageous
- Knowledge of Turbines and ancillary equipment
- Machine alignment principles
- Hydro testing
- Compressors and associated ancillary equipment
- Working at heights (within 3 years from issue)
- Confined space (within 3 years from issue)
- Willingness and ability to be part of the on call after hours roster
- Ability to read and interpret Isometrics P&ID’s and mechanical drawings.
