About the role 

This fulltime position is responsible for the provision of arboriculture and landscaping advice to assist in the processing of development applications, customer service requests for trees on private land and the assessment of tree permit applications.

 

On a daily basis you will:

  • Provide a high level of customer service
  • Assess and negotiate arboricultural and landscaping solutions relating to the development process including recommending development consent conditions and attending pre-lodgement meetings.
  • Process tree permit and tree works development applications.
  • Undertake tree risk assessments.
  • Process Service Requests
  • Issue notices, orders in accordance with various legislative Acts 
  • Investigate and represent Council in legal matters, such as representing Council at the Land and Environment Court.

 

About You 
The successful candidate should have 2-3 years previous experience as a Landscape/Tree management officer in an organisation with similar diversity as the City of Parramatta.

You will also bring: 

  • Specialised tertiary qualifications and skills in the application of theoretical knowledge within a statutory and judicial framework:
  • A Diploma Arboriculture (AQF Level 5), 
  • A Degree in Horticulture/Landscape Architecture, or Diploma of Landscape Design or equivalent, 
  • Current motor vehicle Driver Licence.

We are offering an attractive remuneration from $104,610.61 to $115,174.86 plus 12% superannuation.
