| SALES MANAGER |
Reporting to the General Manager, this exciting career opportunity is available to a competent, driven, and highly motivated individual who will join our dynamic marketing team at our Somerset West office. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving commercial growth, strengthening customer relationships, and contributing to our fruit marketing operations.
Responsibilities:
- Own, drive and service customer demand in line with overall marketing strategy
- Set, monitor and report weekly on pricing in line with the sales strategy
- Nurture and enhance existing customer relations through service delivery excellence
- Collaborate closely with larger sales team to help formulate overall variety planning and execution
- Engage regularly with internal and external parties to support the timely execution of the sales plan
- Interpret and resolve any quality or other related queries timely and accurately
- Manage the debtor’s book and finalization of sales in line with the producer settlement schedule
- Manage and oversee customer accounting and operational processes, meeting internal deadlines
- Ability to implement new and improved processes to streamline the area of responsibility
- Give input in management meetings to support the overall business initiatives
- Manage a team of professionals and support their development
Requirements:
- Commercial or related degree with a minimum of 3 years working experience in the marketing of perishable produce
- Minimum of 2 years management experience
- Excellent fruit marketing and sales knowledge, preferably within the deciduous fruit industry
- A broad understanding of fresh produce processes, administration, and sales accounting
- Strong ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships
- Effective negotiation skills
- Ability to make tactical decisions
- Strong collaborative approach and willingness to work with a team
- People management and leadership skills
