Operations Manager Completions, Liner Hangers & Cementing Products - SSA at Weatherford

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to lead our Completions, Liner Hangers, and Cementation Products across the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region. Based in Port Harcourt or Lagos, this strategic role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, ensuring safety compliance, optimizing resource utilization, and delivering exceptional service quality to our clients. The successful candidate will assume full P&L responsibility and play a key role in shaping the future of our operations in SSA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all operational activities for Completions, Liner Hangers, and Cementation Services across SSA.
• Develop and execute strategic operational plans aligned with business growth objectives.
• Champion HSE compliance, ensuring all operations adhere to Weatherford’s safety standards and procedures.
• Manage and mentor a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Ensure operational readiness through effective equipment maintenance, inventory control, and logistics coordination.
• Cultivate strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with sales and business development teams to identify growth opportunities and expand market presence.
• Monitor operational KPIs to drive performance improvements and enhance efficiency.
• Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring cost control and profitability across product lines.
• Coordinate with global technical teams to resolve complex challenges and deliver innovative solutions.
• Ensure full compliance with local regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to enhance safety and reliability.
• Support tender submissions and technical proposals for major regional projects.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10–15 years of oil & gas industry experience, with 5–7 years in a leadership or management role.
• Deep technical expertise in liner hanger systems, cementation and casing accessories, and completion technologies.
• Proven success managing operations in Sub-Saharan Africa, ideally with experience in Nigeria.
• Strong understanding of well construction, drilling, and completion operations.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing multicultural teams and complex projects.
• Solid financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and P&L management.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software and digital tools.
• Ability to travel up to 30% within Sub Saharan Africa.
• Knowledge of local content requirements and business practices in Nigeria and SSA
