We are searching for the best talent for SENIOR COMPONENTS MANAGER

Purpose:

Provides leadership and direction for process engineering resources and activities.

Partners with manufacturing, LCM, and quality in the identification, definition, and execution of projects and delivers technical requirements for the launch of products as well as continuous improvement of the product’s supply chain capabilities. Encourages and supports the identification and development of innovative solutions to problems and opportunities. At this level, the position has a greater degree of impact on the business results and typically, responsibility for managing a group of professionals.

Under the direction of the Engineering Director, he/she directs and coordinates all components activities and programs within the Engineering area.

Responsible for participating in the development and implementation of transfer plans. Develops, maintains, and improves all Business Processes under your supervision. Participates in day-to-day activities with responsibility in the production of products at the lowest cost, consistent with quality control specifications and production schedules.

Manages and works on problems of diverse scope where data analysis requires evaluation of identifiable factors; selects methods and techniques for troubleshooting.

Directs, coordinates, and executes the principles of Project Management, methods, tools and techniques for effective planning, programs, organizes, controls, and terminates projects with the required scope and time, either performing the activities personally or through subordinates. Individually you must demonstrate creativity, foresight, and ability to make judgments, anticipate and solve problems, generate programs to obtain objectives / requirements, organization / leadership in projects and develop standards and guides for technical activities.

You will be responsible for:

In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

  • Responsible for managing the technical projects of suppliers around capacity, capability and maintenance to improve supplier delivery, quality, and cost.

  • Responsible for providing technical support for the approval/validation of changes/ improvements in supplier processes.

  • Responsible for providing technical support for the resolution of component quality issues.

  • Responsible for determining tooling requirements to maintain component supply.

  • Compliance with safety policies and procedures.

  • Ensures compliance with Environmental Management System (EMS) responsibilities.

  • Follow J&J, CNV and BWI Records Management Policies for Convenience Information.

  • Records Retention Schedules, Training and Education, Document Hold Notices,

  • Records Cleanout, Inactive Records and Information Management, Vital Records and third-party vendor if applicable.

  • Oversees technical execution of projects.

  • Provides comprehensive technical advice.

  • Facilitates resolution of complex technical and operational problems.

  • Promotes innovation initiatives for new products and ideas.

  • Reviews and approves technical documentation to verify compliance to technical specifications and standards.

  • Communicates with internal (manufacturing, quality, engineering) and external partners to coordinate and execute project plans.

  • Assigns tasks according to projected scopes including compliance and quality improvement, cost reduction, cycle time reduction, capacity increase, raw material qualification, and launch preparation.

  • Monitors smooth execution of plans and programs at lower levels and cross functionally.

  • Allocates proper level of resources to facilitate attainment of project goals within established timeliness and budgets.

  • Ensures departmental and company compliance with all local government and company regulations, policies and procedures for health, safety and environmental compliance.

  • The supervision it receives is essentially administrative, with assignments, objectives and limits given in general terms. 

  • He / She has full technical and administrative responsibility to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate his/her areas of responsibility.

  • Establishes operational goals and objectives in the same line and strategies of the corporation. Prepares programs for projects and coordinates activities to ensure the specifications of corporate goals and objectives are achieved. 

  • Maintains liaison between individuals and areas within or around your organization, with responsibility to act independently on techniques or issues related to your area. 

  • Ensures the introduction of new products in compliance with operational G&O.

  • Identifies needs and coordinates the development and support of systems, i.e., Materials Management, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, Information Management, and Interdependent partnering.  

  • Ensures the right level of manufacturing, materials, and personnel.

  • Develops all capital investment and operational expense budgets that support business needs. Provides analysis of variance and corrective actions. 

  • Perfectly understands the precepts of the Quality System Regulations (QSR). It makes sure to comply with ISO and QSR regulations.

  • Reviews and recommends changes to current policies and procedures as they apply to present business needs.

  • Provides and establishes an appropriate climate for operation within the business unit through the implementation of projects related to continuous improvement and in compliance with regulations that apply to all aspects of the business.

  • Make decisions based on an understanding of multiple departments and the relationship between them.

  • Foster relationships by influencing the entire organization to unify criteria.

  • Manages the operation to ensure the achievement of CIP and COGS initiatives. 

  • Understands and implements Signature of Quality (SOQ), Lean Mfg. and Process Excellence (six sigma) methods.

  • Provides leadership to meet the challenges of Diversity.

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of environmental, safety and health programs.

  • Engineering Change Management

  • Control of Product Design / Processes / Equipment.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • It manages its Component Engineering Team (where applicable), generating development plans that encourage permanence in the company. It is responsible for all labor matters of its administrative employees.

  • Responsible for developing subordinates and encouraging them to use their full potential.

  • Is responsible for communicating business-related matters or opportunities to the next managerial level

  • For those who supervise or manage personnel, they are responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all the Company's guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environment practices and that all necessary resources to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable.

  • Is responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State and Local company regulations, policies, and procedures.

  • Performs other assigned tasks as needed.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Generally, requires (8-10) years related experience

  • University/ Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent. Master’s degree preferably.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish

  • Skills and general knowledge for financial analysis, budgeting, and costs preferable
