Position Summary
The Reservoir Engineering Technical Director will serve as a senior technical authority and strategic leader within Ad Terra. This role combines deep reservoir engineering expertise with client-facing leadership, project oversight, and internal team development. The successful candidate will provide thought leadership in reservoir engineering, drive technical excellence across projects, and support business development initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Act as the company’s principal authority on reservoir engineering, ensuring highest technical standards across all projects.
- Provide expert input on field development planning, reservoir management strategies, and performance evaluation.
- Review, challenge, and validate technical work produced by project teams to maintain Ad Terra’s reputation for excellence.
- Exercise final technical judgment in complex or critical reservoir engineering challenges where client value and project direction depend on expert calls.
- Contribute to the development and application of advanced reservoir engineering methodologies, tools, and workflows.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering clear, independent, and high-value insights at executive level.
- Support and lead business development efforts: identifying new opportunities, building client relationships, and contributing to proposals.
- Represent Ad Terra at industry events, conferences, and technical forums, reinforcing the firm’s profile and expertise.
- Provide oversight on complex, multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring technical quality, timely delivery, and client satisfaction.
- Mentor and coach reservoir engineers and project managers, fostering professional development and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to recruitment, training, and competency development within the reservoir engineering discipline.
- Ensure alignment of reservoir engineering projects with broader company objectives, values, and client commitments.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
- Master's degree or higher in Petroleum Engineering or Subsurface Energy Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in reservoir engineering, with significant exposure to field development planning, reserves evaluation, and reservoir management.
- Broad technical versatility with proven ability to address the full spectrum of reservoir engineering challenges.
- Strong client-facing and business development skills, ideally within a consultancy or advisory environment.
- Excellent communication skills in English (French and other languages a plus).
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring, managing, and developing technical teams.
- Recognized as a thought leader in reservoir engineering, with publications, presentations, or industry recognition.
- Strong network within the energy and subsurface sectors.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to contribute to Ad Terra’s growth and positioning.
- Willingness to relocate to Geneva.
