Reporting to the WWTP & BioGas Facility Manager, the WWTP & BioGas Electrician will play a key role in maintaining and supporting the electrical systems of a Level IV Wastewater Treatment Plant and a state-of-the-art BioGas facility. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, a “can-do” attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
This role involves both electrical and mechanical maintenance responsibilities and requires a hands-on professional committed to reliability, safety, and operational excellence.
This position reports directly to the WWTP & BioGas facility Manager and requires collaboration with the Operations, Maintenance , and OT ( Operational Technology) Terms, as well as contractors and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting for a Level IV Wastewater Treatment Facility.
- Conduct electrical maintenance and repairs for a state-of-the-art BioGas Facility.
- Maintain and support well water and tank systems.
- Provide PLC programming, troubleshooting, and technical support.
- Support operational technology (OT) systems, including server updates and coordination with the OT team.
- Execute preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and compliance.
- Manage materials and spare parts — including ordering, issuing, and inventory tracking.
- Assist other maintenance personnel and provide cross-functional support when required.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, and sales representatives.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, ensuring compliance with all standars and procedures ( confined space, hot work, and BioGas safety)
Qualifications
- Certified or Apprentice Electrician (Journeyperson status preferred).
- Industrial electrical experience is considered a strong asset.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated ability to perform both electrical and mechanical work.
- Experience working in industrial maintenance environments (both indoor and outdoor).
- Strong computer literacy and comfort with technical systems.
- Solid mechanical aptitude would be an asset.
- Clear understanding of safety standards, including confined spaces, hot work, and BioGas systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze issues and present accurate solutions.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective collaboration within the team.
