Lead the change, from the frontline

If you’re a technically minded Mechanical Engineer looking to make an impact in the energy transition space, this is an opportunity to bring your expertise to one of Australia’s leading integrated energy providers.

As the Senior Mechanical Engineer in Brisbane, you’ll play a key role in providing high-quality mechanical and technical support across Shell Energy’s generation and production assets including gas generation, storage and renewable (solar) sites.

This role is integral to the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our assets, contributing to both strategic project delivery and day-to-day performance excellence.

With respect, integrity and honesty, responsibilities include:

  • Manage and oversee capital works projects and asset maintenance activities.

  • Support the development, acquisition, and integration of new assets into the Shell Energy portfolio.

  • Lead and participate in engineering design studies, reporting, and OEM technical reviews.

Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:

  • RPEQ registration (or eligibility to obtain within 4 months of commencement).

  • Experience within the Australian energy sector or power generation industry.

  • Proven ability to plan and manage maintenance activities, upgrades, and capital works.

  • Strong working knowledge of gas turbine systems, rotating equipment, and pressure plant.

  • Familiarity with process control, safety systems, and natural gas handling.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to travel to operational sites as required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (essential).
