About the role

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Operational Technology (OT), you will play a critical role in supporting the infrastructure underpinning industrial control and monitoring systems that power AGL’s gas and renewable generation assets. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-level network, server, systems, and application administration services across Australia, ensuring our OT environments remain secure, reliable, and compliant.

This senior position combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, including mentoring team members, leading initiatives, and managing complex incidents. You’ll be on the front line of operational and cybersecurity investigations both during business hours and as part of a 24/7 on-call roster responding to service interruptions, anomalous network activity, and cyber alerts.

Your role will also include contributing to the design, deployment, and optimisation of OT infrastructure, developing and maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and legislation. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic operational environment that demands both deep technical knowledge and strong collaboration skills.

What you'll be doing

  • Leadership & Collaboration: Mentor team members, foster an inclusive high-performance culture, and lead cross-functional projects.
  • Incident & Service Management: Investigate outages and cybersecurity incidents; maintain incident response plans and execute changes with minimal disruption.
  • Network & System Administration: Monitor, troubleshoot, and upgrade OT networks; install, configure, and maintain OT systems and servers.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement cybersecurity measures (firewalls, intrusion detection, hardening) and ensure adherence to regulations and standards.
  • Patching & Performance: Oversee patching processes and continuously optimize OT systems through performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Data & User Support: Safeguard OT data integrity with backups and disaster recovery; provide advanced technical support and training to users.
  • Project Delivery & Relationships: Deliver technical projects, review designs, and maintain strong vendor and stakeholder relationships while promoting HSE policies.

What you'll bring

  • Strong experience in network, server, and systems administration.
  • Knowledge of technologies such as firewalls, routers, switches, hypervisors, storage systems, disaster recovery, security tooling, and identity/access platforms.
  • Incident response experience, including cybersecurity investigations.
  • Skills in patch management, performance monitoring, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Excellent collaboration, leadership, and communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • A commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Applications close on Friday 28th November 2025.
