Until Filled Additional Information: Show/Hide - Build and maintain collegial relationships with teachers of students in their intervention group.
- Plan for and deliver high-quality reading interventions for their students.
- Communicate with parents of children in the intervention group throguh reasonable means and at reasonable intervals.
- Collaborate with the principal and classroom teacher to monitor progress toward the overall success of the intervention group and by proposing actions that would lead to greater success.
- Use information gathered to inform strategies that improve teaching and learning.
- Model professionalism, positive attittude, and a growth mindset.
- Positions are expected to continue until late-spring of 2026.

- During-School Interventionists will:
- Be on duty, supervising, and teaching their respective 30-minute group, for up to 4 days a week. The specific time will be mutually agreed upon by the principal, general education teacher, parents, and the 'during-school' interventionist.
- Earn compensation at employee's contractually provided hourly rate.

- Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Meet professional teacher education requirements of School, District, and State
- State teaching certification including endorsements required for a specific subject/area

DESCRIPTION: Elementary Interventionist (Multiple Needed for During School Hours)
LOCATION: Meridian Elementary School

QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching Certificate Required. Preference will be given to those with Phonics First Training.
RATE OF PAY: Per Master Agreement between the Meridian Public Schools Board of Education and the Meridian Education Association - Compensation will be at employee's contractually provided hourly rate.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The interventionist is responsible for improving student learning within a small group format. The academic area to be taught is reading, while strategies commonly used in an elementary classroom to support student behavior will also be expected. Each interventionist will have between 3-5 total students they are responsible for. Preference will be given to teachers with Orton-Gillingham/Phonics First training.
