The Pro Shop attendant plays a vital role in our community, focused on customer service, retail sales, and daily golf course operations. Key duties include checking in golfers, managing tee times, handling sales of merchandise and fees, maintaining the pro shop's cleanliness, and preparing golf carts for use. Strong communication, organization, and familiarity with golf are important qualifications.
Key responsibilities:
- Customer service: Greet guests, answer questions about the course and merchandise, and handle complaints professionally.
- Sales and transactions: Process payments for green fees, merchandise, and rentals using a point-of-sale system.
- Tee time management: Schedule and manage tee times in an electronic reservation system.
- Retail and inventory: Sell merchandise, assist with restocking, organize displays, and report inventory levels.
- Shop and facility upkeep: Ensure the pro shop is clean and orderly and perform general cleaning tasks.
- Cart maintenance: Prepare golf carts for the day, clean them after use, and return them to storage.
- Support for events: Assist with the coordination of tournaments and special events.
Qualifications and skills
- Customer service and communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential for interacting with members and guests.
- Golf knowledge: A general understanding of golf is helpful, though specific knowledge can vary by employer.
- Computer skills: Ability to use basic computer functions and reservation systems.
- Organizational skills: Strong ability to keep the shop organized and manage daily tasks efficiently.
- Flexibility: Availability to work weekends and evenings is often required.
- Physical ability: Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift items up to 25 pounds.
- Retail experience: Prior retail experience can be a plus.
- Knowlegde of LightSpeed is a plus.
