Serve as lead lighting engineer and AV technician, operating audio, video, and lighting equipment for music performances for a multi-experiential live music venue, bar and restaurant. Under the guidance of department leadership, lead the ongoing training and maintenance needs for related lighting equipment in venue. Ensure world-class technical execution and the delivery of quality experiences for visiting artists and guests. Model teamwork, service and integrity to foster a positive and productive work environment. Work with a team to deliver exceptional service to guests through unforgettable experiences. Reports to Manager of Production.
 
  • Plan, set up, and operate lighting equipment and systems for live and taped productions, recordings, and other audio needs.
  • Serve as board operator for shows and other events.
  • Fulfill lighting needs for musicians and in-house audience. Interface with producers, clients, and talent as to their needs, making recommendations as appropriate to create the desired lighting mood.
  • Select alternate equipment and system routing to work around failures occurring during live productions.
  • Serve as lead programmer for all specialty feature lighting in venue per event requirements.
  • Supervise lighting installation, tear-outs, and restoration.
  • Maintain all lighting systems in venue at full operation. Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of lighting equipment. Lead AV techs in preventative maintenance and repair of equipment. Make recommendations for needed repairs and determine when equipment needs to be repaired by a vendor. Diagnose, log and repair damaged items.
  • Manage firmware and software upgrades to keep operating systems up to date.
  • Interface with technical services, IT staff, and other departments concerning technical systems.
  • Retain knowledge of current lighting standards and practices, technologies and equipment, and vendors.
  • Recommend equipment and system changes and modifications to venue and department leadership.
  • Assist production manager in the creation of related operational procedures and guidelines.
  • Train AV technicians, including new hires, in the use of lighting systems and new/upgraded equipment and related procedures.
  • Ensure that all equipment is used safely, in accordance with proper industry standards, from the load-in through the load-out.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for artists, clients, employees, etc., ensuring that all codes, laws, regulations, and emergency procedures are followed.
