Job Duties And Responsibilities
· At the direction of the Accountable Manager, the Chief Inspector leads the duties and responsibilities of the Inspection department for the Repair Station.
· Support the corporate mission and vision through achievement of department goals and objectives
· Observe and administer company rules and regulations, safety policy, and standard operating procedures
· Collaborate and cooperate with the Customer Project Manager to achieve the on-time and on-budget objective of the work scope
· Drive daily activities toward providing service and deliverables to the customer that meet and exceed customer satisfaction expectations
· Plans, organizes, staffs, controls, and supervises the Inspection department.
· Promotes aviation safety by ensuring airworthiness and quality in aircraft maintenance.
· Assists with the interpretation of Federal Aviation Regulations into company policy/procedure.
· Assists with the Administration of the company’s quality systems and improvements.
· Administration of the Internal Quality Audit Program.
· Coordinates with the Maintenance Manager and the Accountable Manager for the requirements of the Repair Station Training Program and assists/maintains the technician’s training records.
· Administration of the Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic equipment calibration program.
· Supervises the Repair Station’s record-keeping requirements.
· Ensures that all technical data is current.
· Administration of the Repair Station rosters.
· Focus on Human Factors in the workplace and drive to zero defects in workmanship and safety.
· Ensure that Inspectors maintain good housekeeping practices
· Assists/Conducts periodic Repair Station Training Needs Assessments and Individual Need assessment & schedule training
· Monitors all work performed by the Inspectors to ensure adherence to Roles & Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
· Maintaining knowledge of the work scope of assigned aircraft
· Determining airworthiness requirements for aircraft undergoing inspection (reference FAR 43.15)
· Verifying the inspection program is applicable to the assigned aircraft.
· Performing conformity inspections for certification projects.
· Verifying technical data acceptable to and/or approved by the FAA, has been used to provide inspection and approval for return to service with respect to work performed.
· Ensuring all documents and records meet regulatory requirements.
· Ensuring corrective action(s) provides for complete correction of discrepancy
· Providing record(s) of major repairs and alterations; (FAA 337)
· Adheres to general work and safety requirements.
· Performs other related tasks as assigned
· Assisting other employees in the performance of their duties with area(s) of qualification
· Performs other related duties as assigned by the General Manager
Requirements
Qualifications
· Possess a Mechanics certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
· Trained in or experience with the methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to perform aircraft maintenance and alterations.
· Thoroughly familiar with the applicable regulations and proficient in the use of the various inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools appropriate for the work being performed and approved for return to service.
· Specific working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations.
· Specific working knowledge of the RSQCM TPM, and Repair Station Forms.
· Proficient use of MS Office.
· Able to work unsupervised for extended periods.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Demonstrate Excellent Customer Service skills.
· Supervisory skills
· Ability to train
· FAA Inspection Authorization highly preferred
