Job Title: Service Sales Representative
Job Summary
As a Service Sales Representative, you will operate in a business-to-business (B2B) environment, managing an assigned territory and building a portfolio of accounts through referrals, prospecting, and networking. You will also mentor and lead a Junior Sales Representative, driving business growth while maintaining exceptional customer relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities
Represent the company with clients, architects, consultants, property managers, building owners, general contractors, and other key stakeholders.
Develop target lists and generate new business by selling service packages such as leak repairs, preventative maintenance, flashing upgrades, coatings, fit-outs, and small replacements.
Build and maintain long-term commercial client relationships, emphasizing customer service to drive referrals and repeat business.
Prospect and develop new accounts through cold calling, networking, lead follow-up, targeted marketing, and business development meetings.
Cultivate relationships with owners, contractors, and suppliers to expand market reach.
Participate in customer acquisition strategies and target market development.
Coordinate with production teams on replacements and service projects.
Conduct building measurements, verify dimensions, and perform test cuts as needed.
Prepare detailed take-offs, estimates, and proposals; follow up with customers to close sales.
Maintain and update the bid calendar; report status updates to the team.
Review contracts and Notice to Proceed (NTP) letters for accuracy in scope and pricing.
Collaborate with the Service Manager for project handoffs following bid awards.
Participate in post-project financial analysis and performance tracking.
Plan, oversee, and engage in marketing and outreach initiatives.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of commercial roofing systems and experience in managing or estimating single-ply, asphalt, cold-applied, hot-applied, and metal projects preferred (but not required for the right candidate).
Proven experience managing and mentoring sales associates.
Minimum of 5 years of construction or industrial sales experience.
Demonstrated success in expanding market share and achieving sales goals.
Strong problem-solving skills with a results-driven, entrepreneurial mindset.
Excellent organizational, time management, and sales tracking abilities.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in computer applications and CRM systems.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive environment.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Construction Management preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
