The Manager, Reliability Engineering, is responsible for leading and supervising all aspects of developing and implementing reliability plans for Division-specific Products. 

This position will serve US Air Division, located in Fort Smith, AR.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision over the engineers assigned staff. Provide performance feedback, coaching, and mentoring. 
  • Possess a strong technical understanding of the division product line.  Including understanding different field requirements and environmental factors for successful installations.
  • Guide the development of reliability test cycles based on real-world user profiles and field usage data.
  • Develop new designs and interact with manufacturing to develop the products.
  • Provide engineering expertise and support to the reliability team. 
  • Generate engineering documentation e.g. specifications, layouts, BOM, and qualification reports. 
  • Works closely with Product Engineers, Project Teams, and Reliability Lab to maintain data of ongoing projects for Boundary Diagram, Interface Analysis, P Diagram, DFMEA, and DVP in the Reliability database and/or software.
  • Supports project teams to meet reliability objectives before product launch.
  • Supports and ensures Boundary Diagram, P Diagram, Interface Analysis, Reliability & Robustness Checklist, and Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) are completed as required for each project.
  • Provide support to the Reliability Lab and Product Engineers with the test failure investigation and reporting process.
  • Establish and maintain project schedules and key management reports. 
  • Oversees controls over engineering documents.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on project status throughout the organization. 
  • Ability to serve multiple functional teams to support the development of project reliability requirements.
  • Attend DFMEA reviews with each assigned project team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • 7+ years’ experience in product development and reliability engineering

  • Managerial experience 

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite, SolidWorks, and CFD.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well with others in a matrix team environment.
