We are seeking an experienced PROPERTY SUPERVISOR to join our team and help us carry out our vision by overseeing an affordable housing portfolio. The ideal candidate has a strong management, financial, marketing and customer service background with working knowledge of Section 8 and assisted housing programs. The candidate should also be highly organized, possess strong supervisory and time management skills and have a passion for improving people’s lives.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Property Supervisor manages the operations of a portfolio to maintain the integrity of the physical assets and maximize the returns from the assets in accordance with the organization’s objectives. Responsibilities include supervising property managers of the portfolios, community outreach marketing programs, budgeting, capital improvement projects, facility management, accounts payables and receivables, portfolio required reporting and monitoring to ensure property is in compliance with the requirements of the housing portfolio. The supervisor mentors, leads and inspires their property management staff to achieve optimal portfolio results and provide great customer service to residents.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: The supervisor’s main office is in the Chicago loop but will be required to travel to the different sites within the Chicago land portfolio. The minimum qualifications are as follows;
- 4 year degree in related field preferred.
- Five years’ experience of affordable housing programs with thorough knowledge of Section 8. LIHTC experience a plus.
- Accredited Certified Property Manager (CPM) with leasing license preferred. Must attain to remain in position.
- Three years of supervisory experience, supervising 5 or more subordinates
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Bilingual Spanish is required.
- Strong financial analysis experience.
- Experience working with governmental and community representatives.
- Good computer skills including working knowledge of MS Office Suite and property management software/systems preferred (Boston Post, Yardi or MRI).
- Vehicle, DL and insurance is required.
