We are seeking a passionate, driven physical therapist to deliver therapy to adults with a variety of medical conditions. In this position, you will provide physical therapy services to residents, including assessment, treatment, program planning and implementation, related documentation, and communication and functions under physicians’ orders. We welcome seasoned, experienced PTs to apply for this position, as well as new grads.

Position Description

 

  • Promotes and maintains health by providing physical therapy services under the supervision of the therapy director.
  • Contributes to a physical therapist’s effectiveness by identifying patient care issues.
  • Administers treatment programs for patients.
  • Assesses patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and obtaining updating, and studying therapy histories.
  • Coach patients and teach them therapeutic exercises and stretches to improve their condition
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities.
  • Helps patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
  • Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Maintains production objectives by noting current treatment trends and monitoring actual physical therapy services rendered to production objectives.
  • Maintains legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to policy positions concerning federal, state, and local regulations and JACHO standards.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading periodicals, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhances physical therapy reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Physical Therapist Qualifications / Skills:
    • Compassion and empathy for patients, who are often in pain
    • Attention to detail regarding a patient’s problems to analyze what they need to ease their pain and to prevent further injury
    • Physical stamina to lift patients and spend long hours standing and modeling exercises
    • Interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with patients and motivate them
    • Communication skills to interact clearly with doctors and family members as well as patients

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Graduated from an accredited Physical Therapy (PT) college or university.
  • Valid Physical Therapy (PT) license for state practicing.
  • Conduct Physical Therapy assessments of referred patients providing direct patient care to assess medical conditions, functional capabilities, limitations, and potential for rehabilitation.
  • Proficient in EMR documentation (we use PCC but experience in this system is not required).
  • CPR Certification.
