Referral Coordinator CHP - Neuro Institute at Community Health System

As a Referral Coordinator for Community Health Partners, you’ll be essential to patient experience. Community Health Partners – part of Community Health System – helps primary care physicians and specialists manage their practices. In your role, you will be responsible for coordinating the referral and authorization process for physician practices and serve as a liaison between the patient/family, physicians, treatment team and insurance plans to ensure quality services are being provided and patient needs are being met.

Responsibilities

In your role, you will:

• Assist the practice physician(s) and patients by coordinating and tracking insurance authorizations and referrals for outside testing or specialty care.
• Submit referral activity reports to supervisor for review and follow-up if necessary.
• Coordinate and communicate with various insurance carriers to obtain necessary pre-authorization for patients to receive necessary services.

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Certificate required
• Associate's Degree preferred

Experience

• 4 years of healthcare clerical/administrative support experience required
• Prior experience with referrals and authorizations required
