Summary:
Ready to dive deep into complex water networks and drive strategic planning? We're seeking a Hydraulic Modeller to be the driving force behind South East Water's operational intelligence and long-term asset strategy. Apply your GIS, modelling, and analytical expertise to proactively plan for maintenance, evaluate future infrastructure changes, and strategically future-proof our entire clean water distribution system.Main responsibilities:
Carry out model rebuild or updates using GIS, Scopex, Telemetry Systems and pressure logging software.
Demand assessments using billing data and other system metering.
Discussions with operational staff to confirm current network configuration.
Site visits to determine functional calibration field tests.
Modelling/network assessments to support developer enquiry assessments
Making recommendations for any reinforcement required to maintain levels of service and assisting Developer Services in their response to developers.
Meeting of network-associated KPIs.
Operational risk modelling.
Be able to work as part of a standby rota to provide out of hours modelling support for incidents, which is currently one in eight weeks.
Provide modelling support to departments around the business such as:
Engineering: sizing pumps and providing information for surge analysis.
Water Quality: Age of water, source of supply, direction of flow.
Operations: managing planned work and emergency incidents.
Leakage: leak detection, DMA reorganisation and pressure management.
Water Resources: strategic planning supporting the PR process.
You'll need:
Effective communication skills and problem-solving capabilities.
Good understanding of hydraulics
Degree or relevant technical experience
Good IT and analytical skills
Experience in coordinating and delivering technically excellent projects independently.
Ability to either originate and/or check the work of others to provide quality assurance and drive continuous improvement in work delivered
Experience in hydraulic modelling, catchment planning and solution development is desirable.
Experience using InfoWorks WS Pro, GIS software's is desirable.
Understanding of UK Water Industry and regulatory issues.

Compensation package:
£33,000 up to £36,000 dependant on experience
