Job Summary

Ensures the compliant programmatic and fiscal management of assigned grants. Spearheads the work needed to ensure successful implementation, reporting, evaluation, and closeout of assigned awards that results in the accomplishment of award objectives.

What you will do
  • Ensures the compliant administration of assigned grants in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements, including 2 CFR Part 200; implements, tracks, monitors, evaluates, and ensures completion of all programmatic activities required by assigned awards including close out.
  • Implements processes in alignment with existing MNPS policies and procedures to charge expenses to grant accounts (payroll, supplemental pay, travel, non-personnel, etc.); tracks and monitors expenses charged to grant accounts to ensure alignment of charges with approved budget narrative and budgeted amounts; works with Grant Fiscal Team to ensure timely spending of grant funds, accuracy of charges on grant accounts, and fiscal compliance; utilizes resources and tools such as budgeting platforms, ERPs, and Excel to support effective management of grant funds.
  • Determines allowability of grant charges through the review and approval of requisitions, spend authorizations, and reimbursement requests for assigned grants; ensures completion of procurement process for all grant-funded transactions; regularly reviews costing to ensure accuracy of personnel charged to assigned grants.
  • Prepares and submits all required reporting and evaluation for assigned grants including award closeout; manages documentation for assigned grants; responds to requests from MNPS teams as well as external auditors and monitors.
  • Woks with other departments to develop RFPs, RFQs, etc. that result in the issuance of contracts and MOUs necessary to ensure successful implementation of assigned awards.
  • Communicates and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders such as Federal Programs, Procurement, Financial Operations, Division of Teaching and Learning, Human Resources, vendors, community organizations, and more throughout the life of the grant as necessary for the accomplishment of grant objectives.
  • Stays abreast of federal, state, and local laws, policies, and regulations regarding the compliant administration of assigned grants.
  • May assist in training staff or other stakeholders in programs or initiatives related to assigned grants.
  • Provide support, supervision, and evaluation to staff depending on assigned grant.
Additional Requirements
  • May perform other financial management duties related to planning, budgeting, analysis, and reporting to ensure fiscal integrity, compliance, and effective stewardship of district funds.
Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
Experience Qualifications
  • 3-5 years prior experience managing grants including experience with managing grant-funded projects, budget development, and related oversight responsibilities Required

Equivalency
Starting At: $80,067.82

Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
