Hospice RN – 7 On / 7 Off Overnight & Weekend Coverage (Remote On-Call) — Flint, MI

We are seeking an experienced and caring Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) for a 7-on/7-off schedule, covering 4:30 PM – 8:30 AM, with remote on-call triage and in-person hospice support as needed. This unique schedule offers you a full-time salary, full benefits, and seven days off every other week.
Schedule
• 7 days on / 7 days off
• Hours: 4:30 PM – 8:30 AM Monday through Friday and the weekend
• 26 weeks off every year! With PTO applied, you effectively enjoy 28 weeks off annually

What You’ll Do
During your scheduled week, you will:
• Provide telephonic triage, symptom management, and emotional support
• Respond to patient needs and perform in-person visits when required
• Educate and guide families to help them feel confident and supported
• Coordinate seamlessly with our interdisciplinary hospice team
• Complete timely and accurate documentation
• Partner closely with physicians, aides, social workers, and chaplains to ensure patient comfort and dignity

Qualifications
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Help optimize the capital structure and support strategic initiatives.
- Maintains the agency’s mission, philosophy and core values.
- Ensures compliance with agency policies and procedures regarding operations/processes, including but not limited to those regarding patient care, patient complaints, incidents, safety and emergency management.
- Always maintains patient confidentiality, including all HIPAA regulations.
Regulatory Requirements
- Licensed or registered in the state in which he/she currently practices..
- Must pass a criminal background check & MVR check.
- Completed health statement acknowledging ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Proof of current automobile insurance.
- Current CPR card; On-line CPR certification accepted; Hands-on CPR certification preferred.
- TB testing per agency policy; (1 or 2 step TB skin test within 12 months of hire & annual TB symptom screening thereafter).
Industry experience
- Ability to work independently, make accurate, and at times, quick judgments. Ability to supervise others appropriately. Ability to respond appropriately to crisis outside of a hospital setting. Acceptance of and adaptability to different social, racial, cultural and religious modes. Completes Hospice training program.
- Active patient contact within past three years, preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a registered nurse, preferred
EDUCATION:
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Currently licensed as a registered nurse to practice in the state.
